A Sense of Place: A Story of the Williams Family Farm is about the Williams family and the farm that has become Red Gate Farm today.
This was a beautiful project to work on. I had the extreme pleasure of working
with a neighbor, Rachel Cohen-Rottenberg, who has now become a friend.
There were times I walked down our dirt road to deliver or pick up manuscript,
revisions, or photographs that needed to be rescanned. Often I stayed to
discuss our children, or our childhoods, or endless other subjects.
This book was close to Rachel’s heart. She visited Francis Williams until his death this past February of
2007. She began by taking on Francis as someone she might befriend, help. It
turned out that Rachel was the one that Francis taught and helped.
Her book is beautifully and thougtfully written. She has already sold out of her
first 100 copies here locally. She’ll reprint and then reprint again, as those reprinted are already promised.
What a joy for me that we had this opportunity to work together!
